Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

        Ilvermorny is the North American school of magic founded in the seventeenth century. It is located at the peak of Mount Greylock. They have used many enchantments to conceal its presence with a misty cloak.

        This school has 4 houses just like Hogwartz: Horned Serpent, Wampus, Pukwudgie, and the Thunderbird. Each represent different things. The Horned Serpent represents the mind and typically favors scholars. The Wampus represents the body and typically favors warriors. The Pukwudgie represents the heart and typically favors healers. Thunderbirds represents the soul and typically favors adventurers.

        Ilvermorny was founded by an Irish settler named Isolt Sayre. She was a witch who was born in 1603. Her parents died in a tragic accident and as taken in by her aunt named Gormlaith Gaunt. Gormlaith actually saved her from the fire that killed Isolt’s parents. As she was growing up she learned that her savior was actually the one who killed her parents. Gormlaith didn’t want Isolt to marry a muggle. Through her life she has been teaching Isolt magic. After she learned the truth behind her parents death she fled, cut her hair to appear as a boy and hopped on the Mayflower.

        She ended up meeting a Pukwudgie and a Horned Serpent in her travels through North America before setting up her Ilvermorny residence on Mount Greylock.
